The SARS-Cov-2 Antigen Rapid Test Cassette (swab) is an in vitro diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of novel coronavirus antigens in Nasopharyngeal swab, using the rapid immunochromatographic method. It can detect acute infection in a fraction of the time of PCR tests as antigen tests deliver the results into a paper-like strip that returns a simple yes or no answer, much like pregnancy tests. Positive results from an antigen test need to be confirmed with a PCR test prior to making treatment decisions or to prevent the possible spread of the virus due to a false negative. The identification is based on the monoclonal antibodies specific for the novel coronavirus antigen. It will provide information for clinical doctors to prescribe correct medications. These kits are intended for use by a trained professional only.
